Eggs

The bird that laid these eggs way out in the open is the size of a sparrow but the eggs are like bantams eggs. Ouch!
White bird, black and red markings, does great wounded wing impressions and runs very fast on ground to distract predators. Hard to photograph.

Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos.

You can't see it very well, but this is one of eleven Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos that got into my Almond tree this morning. I don't think they are very rare , but I haven't seen them around for about 20 years.

Now that the drought has broken, we can cultivate normally. Of course, weeds are more of a problem but it is worth it.

New BBQ

Knowing that Meister Chef Achim Herterich needs space to cook 80 racks of lamb for the Seductions Lunch on Saturday I thought a new BBQ was in order. 0.85 square metres of cooking area wood fired. Mount Gambier stone.

Pre-Birthday dinner

Some good friends at Minh Tanh 2 in Little Saigon, Victoria St. Richmond, Melbourne for a nice dinner. Tommy Leung brought a 2001 Sally's Paddock but I topped him with a magnum of 2000. A 1997 Jim Barry Riesling was unfortunately oxidised. Probably a duff cork.
