Rain at last!

Then, at 3 pm, the deluge, but you never saw wet punters so rejoiced. So the races were abandoned and we got much closer to our customers until it got dark and then we all went home, tired and wet, but very happy.

Sales

Sally, Scott and Tara ready to serve the hordes of happy punters by glass or bottle. (Glass this side, plastic at the back.) Great weather for red drinkers.

Egg and bacon pie

Cheese and ham pie, egg and bacon pie, quiche with Jamon Serano and Manchego, Tom Cooper's smoked salmon, Redbank olives, Sally's Dukka, Neill's tapenade and Calendar cheeses (Will Studd's Normandy Camembert and Roquefort) all washed down with some Sally's Paddock Magnums from the Cellar. Horses? What horses?

Bush race meeting

Anzac Day Race meeting at the charming Avoca race course. We invited some friends for a picnic lunch and had a wonderful day.

Put to bed

So that's that... for a short while until we start racking off. Now for the races.

Sasha Punching Vat 8

Here is a short Video of Sasha punching some Cabernet Sauvignon. Hope it comes out. Don't know what she's saying. Sasha is winemaker at a modern winery in Griffith, so this is like going back to the Dark Ages for her.

Even on Sunday

Twice a day usually. We have no problem with colour extraction so this is the gentle way of getting what we want out of the berries.

Punching

Still punching down the cap in the old fashioned way here. It can be a bit tedious, especially early Sunday morning, but the results make it worth while.
